Rulers, spectrometers, meter sticks, Geiger counters, chronometers – the fetish of our civilization: measuring instruments, which enable us to understand the world, compare situations, and own things. Those who measure have power. But who will own these instruments in future? What are the measuring scales and units of tomorrow? In order to mark WIENWOCHE – and to re-measure the future – seven designers got together to create their own highly-specialized, prospective measuring instruments. Now, the measuring stand is also making a guest appearance at the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, where it is inviting visitors to take demo measurements and help to recalibrate our visions of the future.
